As of 9:05 AM, we have 18 positive, 21 negative, and 50 pending tests. This document will be updated live with information.

We are working on a way to better reflect the impacts that the hospital is seeing. We are considering a green, amber, red type indicator to display to the public. The numbers can change so quickly there and we want to ensure we are portraying an accurate message. While we don’t currently have a need for an alternate care site, we are working to adapt the Fred Field House should we have a surge of folks to the healthcare system.

We are beginning to see the growth in treatment phase of this pandemic in our community. We cannot stress enough the importance of social distancing to slow the spread of this disease. We MUST adhere to the Public Health Orders so as not to overwhelm our healthcare system.

We are now up to 11 positive, 7 negative, and 31 pending test results. As of 5:02 PM we have 185 people self-reporting symptoms.

In order to minimize pressure on the call center and screening site, we ask that you first self-report online. This form allows our team to track those with symptoms without them calling the call center or coming to the screening sites.

March 16th 6 PM Update

Since our actual positive rate of testing is so misrepresented by a lack of test kits and a backlog on testing, we have moved to share some other additional measures on the incidence in our community.

In order to minimize pressure on the call center and screening site, we ask that you first self-report online. If your symptoms worsen, please call the call center at 970-641-7660. Your information will remain anonymous, but we will update everyone with the number of individuals who self-report. This form allows our Health and Human Services employees to track those with symptoms without them calling the call center or coming to the screening sites.

March 16th 11 AM Update

New Public Health Orders have been issued to close all Short-Term Lodging unless an exemption is issued by the Public Health Director for quarantine and emergency response crews. All visitors are asked to return home immediately by the safest and fastest available means. We ask that they self-isolate upon return. The order closes all restaurants and retail other than delivery service. Events are now limited less than 10 people.

To make the experience for kids special and not scary we encourage you to recreate outside, board games, movie nights, fishing, hiking, or cross-country skiing. Any opportunity to explore while maintaining social distancing is encouraged. This goes for adults too. Across the globe, we are in uncharted territory. We can prop each other up as a community to get through this.

March 14th 11 AM Update

If you have any symptoms, please stay home and do not venture into public spaces, Gunnison Valley Health, your primary care physician, or the screening site. Instead we ask that you call the Call Center, open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. They will question callers to determine next steps. Before going to your doctor or the emergency room please call the Call Center at (970) 641-7660.
