10,000 Gunnison County Residents Vaccinated
As of 6/7/21, 10,057 Gunnison County residents are fully vaccinated. That corresponds to 69% of the population 16+ which the vaccination target was based on. With expanded vaccination eligibility (12+) we are at 65% fully vaccinated. Additionally, we have over 10,800 individuals who have received at least their first dose.
These vaccination rates are substantially higher than what is being seen in other rural communities state and nationwide. According to recent data from the CDC on vaccination amongst those 18+, nationwide the average vaccination rate in rural communities is 39%. In Colorado, rural communities have a 49% vaccination rate. For Gunnison County to have achieved 69% is truly an accomplishment.
Collectively, Gunnison County would like to thank the community for their engagement with the vaccination process. Every newly vaccinated person helps contribute to our community-level protection and continued progress and vibrancy.
Our total vaccination progress is being updated on Monday evenings and can be found on our dashboard here.

2nd Dose Reminder
Gunnison County is aware of challenges with the second dose notifications sent through our scheduling tool. As a reminder, anyone who is past due for a second dose may walk-in to any clinic to receive their final dose.
We ask that Gunnison County residents pay attention to their date of first dose delivery as this determines the cycle to the second dose. Pfizer is delivered in a three-week sequence and Moderna is delivered in a four-week cycle. When you receive your first dose, please pay attention to when you would need to return for a second dose. This will help folks determine what week they need to come to a clinic for their second dose.
If you have additional scheduling or vaccine logistics questions please reach out to the Call Center at 970-641-7660 and they can help navigate the schedule or other concerns.

Gunnison is Green
Gunnison County transitioned to Green on the Coronameter on 5/28/21. This largely removed remaining public health restrictions outside of a limited facial covering requirement.
Masking is no longer required outside of the following settings: Healthcare providers, Schools & Childcare, Public Transportation, Jails/Prisons and Court, and any business or setting requiring facial coverings. Some businesses and entities may wish to continue requiring a facial covering and are within their right to do so and we ask that you respect their policies when patronizing the establishment. Gunnison County continues to encourage the unvaccinated to utilize a facial covering in all public settings.
The Gunnison County Public Health Order will sunset in entirety on 7/1/21.
