Modified Coronameter Blue Level

In recognition of Gunnison County’s community wide accomplishment of achieving >70% first dose vaccination amongst the eligible population alongside the evolving guidance on the topic of facial coverings, Gunnison County will be posting a modified Blue Level of the Coronameter. This modified Blue Level removes the requirement for facial coverings outdoors and is effective 5/17/21. Facial coverings will no longer be required outdoors, but we strongly encourage unvaccinated populations to continue wearing masks.

While we continue in the Blue Level there will be a requirement for facial coverings indoors in public spaces. We anticipate the ability to make further modifications to the facial covering requirement upon transition to Green on the Coronameter later in May.

Green is Coming

As of 5/17/21, 9,299 Gunnison County residents are fully vaccinated. Additionally, we continue to make great progress with walk-in clinics as 10,462 first doses have been delivered. We are on track for 10,000 fully vaccinated by Memorial Day if people continue to complete the vaccination cycle over the next two weeks.

Gunnison County is aware of challenges surrounding our digital notifications for second-dose scheduling and delivery. Currently, we believe there are over 900 individuals who are overdue for a second dose. If you are overdue for a second dose, we ask that you come to one of our walk-in clinics where Pfizer and Moderna are being offered and we will help you finish your vaccination cycle.

Every fully vaccinated person helps achieve our target of 10,000 fully vaccinated Gunnison County residents!

If you have additional scheduling or vaccine logistics questions please reach out to the Call Center at 970-641-7660 and they can help navigate the schedule or other concerns.

Our total vaccination progress is being updated on Monday evenings and can be found on our dashboard here.

Pfizer EUA Extension

The Pfizer vaccine is now available to the population over the age of 12. Adolescents can receive the Pfizer vaccine at Gunnison County clinics. Minors require parental consent – which can be delivered in person, with written permission, or verbally over the phone.

Additionally, Gunnison County is considering additional mechanisms for families to access vaccination for their adolescent children.

Vaccination Clinic Schedule Update and Walk-Ins

We encourage those who have not yet been vaccinated to utilize one of our upcoming walk-in clinics. Also, if you have missed your scheduled second dose, you can come to one of the walk-in clinics with access to Pfizer and Moderna to receive your second dose. Please try to remember your vaccine card.

Our upcoming clinics are as follows:

  • 5/20/21 (Thursday) 11:30am-1:00pm & 4pm-5:30pm
    • Fred Field Center
      • 11:30am-1:00pm Johnson & Johnson will be available
      • 4pm-5:30pm Pfizer and Moderna will be available

Due to vaccine availability on the day we may not be able to accommodate every walk-in request. We will continue to offer walk-ins at all scheduled clinics.

The best way to find the next scheduled clinic is through the Call Center at 970-641-7660.
