5/10/21 Update

There will be no Virtual Town Hall today.

Pfizer EUA Extension

Based on the available information, we expect that the Pfizer vaccine will be available for adolescent populations (12-15) by the week’s end. This means we are expecting to be able to deliver Pfizer vaccine to those populations on Thursday 5/13 and Saturday 5/15. If you are interested in having your adolescent children vaccinated, please utilize the walk-in clinics.

CDPHE Mobile Vaccination Clinic

CDPHE will be bringing their mobile vaccine clinic to Gunnison on 5/15/21. There will be a vaccination clinic in the parking lot of Community Banks of Colorado (1100 N. Main Street) in Gunnison.

The clinic will run from 10am-6pm and provide both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. This clinic is open to first doses and those who may be overdue for a second dose. If you have not yet received your second dose and are eligible to do so, please feel free to seek a second dose on Saturday.

Please bring your vaccination card when you seek a second dose. If you have misplaced your vaccination card, you can still get a second dose – your first dose information can be looked up in CIIS.

Progress to Green

As of 5/10/21, 8,861 Gunnison County residents are fully vaccinated. Additionally, we continue to make great progress with walk-in clinics as 10,262 first doses have been delivered. We are on track for 10,000 fully vaccinated by Memorial Day if people continue to complete the vaccination cycle.

We encourage everyone to get their second shot as scheduled – or as close to it as possible. If you are overdue for your second shot, do not hesitate to show up at a walk-in clinic where Pfizer and Moderna are being offered and we will get you a second shot to complete your vaccination cycle!

If you have additional scheduling or vaccine logistics questions please reach out to the Call Center at 970-641-7660 and they can help navigate the schedule or other concerns.

Our total vaccination progress is being updated on Monday evenings and can be found on our dashboard here.

Vaccination Clinic Schedule Update and Walk-Ins

We encourage those who have not yet been vaccinated to utilize one of our upcoming walk-in clinics. Also, if you have missed your scheduled second dose, you can come to one of the walk-in clinics with access to Pfizer and Moderna to receive your second dose. Please try to remember your vaccine card.

Our upcoming clinics are as follows:

  • 5/13/21 (Thursday) 11:30am-1:00pm & 4pm-6pm
    • Fred Field Center
      • 11:30am-1:00pm Johnson & Johnson will be available
      • 4pm-6pm Pfizer and Moderna will be available
  • 5/15/21 (Saturday)
    • Community Banks of Colorado
      • 10am-6pm both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson will be available

Due to vaccine availability on the day we may not be able to accommodate every walk-in request. We will continue to offer walk-ins at all scheduled clinics.

The best way to find the next scheduled clinic is through the Call Center at 970-641-7660.
