5/3/21 Update

Push for Green!

We have great news in Gunnison County regarding our vaccination progress. As of 5/3/21, we have delivered 10,130 first doses to Gunnison County residents. This means if everyone who started completes their vaccination cycle we will hit our 10,000 fully vaccinated target to progress to Green on the Coronameter.

Based on the weekly cycle of second doses and the return of the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine at upcoming clinics, it will be 3-4 weeks before the County hits the 10,000 fully vaccinated number.

As it stands, 8,580 Gunnison County residents are fully vaccinated. Let’s finish this out! We encourage everyone to get their second shot as scheduled – or as close to it as possible.

If you had to cancel your second shot, do not hesitate to show up at a walk-in clinic where Pfizer and Moderna are being offered and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If you have additional scheduling or vaccine logistics questions please reach out to the Call Center at 970-641-7660 and they can help navigate the schedule or other concerns.

Our total vaccination progress is being updated on Monday evenings and can be found on our dashboard here.

Vaccination Clinic Schedule Update and Walk-Ins

We encourage those who have not yet been vaccinated to utilize one of our upcoming walk-in clinics. Also, if you have missed your scheduled second dose, you can come to one of the walk-in clinics with access to Pfizer and Moderna to receive your second dose.

Our upcoming clinics are as follows:

  • 5/6/21 (Thursday) 11:30am-1:00pm & 4pm-6pm
    • Fred Field Center
      • 11am-1:30pm Johnson & Johnson will be available
      • 4pm-6pm Pfizer and Moderna will be available
  • 5/13/21 (Thursday)
    • Fred Field Center
      • 11:30am-1pm Johnson & Johnson will be available
      • 4pm-6pm Pfizer and Moderna will be available

Due to vaccine availability on the day we may not be able to accommodate every walk-in request. We will continue to offer walk-ins at all scheduled clinics.

The best way to find the next scheduled clinic is through the Call Center at 970-641-7660.

Upcoming Community Testing Events

There will be walk-in community testing events in conjunction with CDPHE next week. Testing will be as follows:

  • Crested Butte: 5/13/21 from 3pm-7pm at the Crested Butte Community School
  • Gunnison: 5/14/21 from 3pm-7pm at the Fred Field Center

COVID Testing Schedule

All testing provided at the GVH testing site will be scheduled Monday-Friday from 9am-12pm.

Appointments continue to be made through the Gunnison County Call Center at 970-641-7660. Those seeking testing who are asymptomatic should continue to request testing through the Call Center. A reminder testing can be scheduled for any reason.

Phase 2 Vaccinations and Young Adults

Currently, the only vaccine approved for populations as young as 16 is Pfizer. Gunnison County has great access to the Pfizer vaccine and we will be publishing when Pfizer is available at our walk-in clinics.

A reminder that those under 18 should receive consent from their parent/legal guardians and need to have an adult present to consent for vaccination.

Other Vaccine Sites
