4/19/21 Update

Vaccination Clinics Accepting Walk-Ins

In an attempt to better meet the needs of our community, Gunnison County vaccination clinics will begin accepting walk-ins with no prior registration.

Due to vaccine availability on the day we may not be able to accommodate every walk-in request. However, we expect to have walk-in availability at all clinics moving forward.

Starting on Thursday 4/22/21 anyone interested in receiving a vaccination may register on site for a vaccination. The 4/22/21 vaccine clinic is scheduled from 3pm-5:30pm and may arrive at anytime within that window.

On Thursday 4/29/21, the clinic at the Fred Field Center in Gunnison from 3:30pm-5:30pm will also be accepting walk-ins.

There will also be a walk-in vaccination clinic in Crested Butte on Saturday, 5/1/21 from 10-11:30am. The location has not yet been finalized, stay-tuned for more information.

Now that we will be accommodating walk-ins, there may be questions about when and what time the next available vaccine clinic will be.

To find out the vaccine clinic schedule, please contact the Call Center at 970-641-7660.

Push for Green!

As of 4/19/21 just over 9,300 Gunnison County residents have received at least one dose of vaccine.

We need approximately 700 more new adults to complete the vaccination process to achieve our goal of 10,000 fully vaccinated individuals to reach Green on the Coronameter.

Our total vaccination progress is being updated on Monday evenings and can be found on our dashboard here.

Phase 2 Vaccinations and Young Adults

This means that all adults 16 and older who are interested in being vaccinated can look to schedule an appointment. Currently, the only vaccine approved for populations as young as 16 is Pfizer.

A reminder that those under 18 should receive consent from their parent/legal guardians and need to have an adult present to consent for vaccination.

Virtual Town Halls & Updates

We have adjusted the sequence of our written updates and Town Halls. Both will occur on Mondays. Our Virtual Town Halls continue at 4:00 PM on Monday. Sign up ahead of time here.

If there is a topic you would like to see covered, please email ideas to, pio@gunnisoncounty.org.

Community Testing Update

Testing provided at the GVH testing site will be scheduled Monday-Friday from 9am-12pm. Appointments continue to be made through the Gunnison County Call Center at 970-641-7660. Those seeking testing who are asymptomatic should continue to request testing through the Call Center. A reminder testing can be scheduled for any reason.

We are working with CDPHE to schedule a mass-testing event for the end of April in the North Valley following Spring Break. A date has not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for more information.

Other Vaccine Sites

The Mesa County Mass Vaccination Site is at The Mesa County Convention Center (159 Main Street). The vaccination site is open Monday-Friday, 9am – 4pm. Registration for appointments required. Scheduling in English. Scheduling in Spanish.

City Market continues to provide vaccinations. They have set up a scheduling system that is separate from the Gunnison County Vaccine Interest Form.

Walmart has also begun vaccinations. Sign up can be found here.

State Exposure Notification App

The state’s new exposure notification app is now live. Info on how to set it up can be found here. Even a small uptake of the app in our community can positively impact our outcomes. While alone it won’t be a game changer, combined with our other tools- social distancing, masks, hand hygiene- we can continue to reduce the spread.

Call Center: 970-641-7660

The Call Center is open from 8 a.m.-12p.m. and 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The Call Center is available to help with questions about vaccination or testing.

For those needing assistance outside of those hours, please leave a message. There will also be someone monitoring the callcenter@gunnisoncounty.org email.
