President’s Day

Incident Command will be taking a day off to observe the President’s Day holiday. We continue with our regular updates on Thursday. We will be skipping a Virtual Town Hall meeting and picking back up on Monday, 2/22.

Data Dashboard Updates

As new testing data streams continue to come online, we are working to move to a long term solution for our local data. We are working to efficiently funnel data from the state’s system into our own database. Our data studio is down for maintenance as we make these changes. In the meantime, please refer to the state’s dashboards. We hope to have our data studio back up by late next week. At that time, we will be updating the data studio manually as we build an automated feed of the data input from the state. We will outline the cadence of these manual updates as we get the data studio back online.

City Market Vaccines

Through a federal program, City Market will begin receiving vaccines this week. They have set up a scheduling system that is separate from the Gunnison County Vaccine Interest Form. We are excited to have more doses arriving into our community.

Vaccine Appointments

We have been increasingly hearing of individuals questioning whether their appointments were real. There are three ways that you will hear of an appointment from Gunnison County; text message, email, or automated phone call.

  • The text messages will come from 970-648-0381. This number will not receive a reply from you.
  • The email will come from noreply@vaccination.one-valley-covid-19.org. We ask that you consider adding this address to your do not block spam list as we have heard from some that it is going to junk.
  • The automated phone call to land lines will come from 970-648-0381.

Community Testing

Our weekly community testing events have been cancelled at this time. We are working to bolster our testing at a local level through efforts with our healthcare system. Long term we have to manage this disease with local resources and we want to build the infrastructure to accomplish this.

We are building up our capacity at the GVH testing site. This week we are hopeful to build capacity to 80 tests per day and next week up to 100 tests per day. We plan to launch free testing for anyone including asymptomatic individuals through Gunnison Valley Health starting on Monday 2/22. These appointments will be made through the Call Center at 970-641-7660.

We do intend to do a CDPHE supported community testing event following spring break.

  • Friday, March 26th at the Gunnison County Fairgrounds, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Saturday, March 27th at the Crested Butte Community School, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Virtual Town Hall

Due to our holiday next week, our next Town Hall meeting will be at 4:00 PM on Monday, 2/22. Sign up ahead of time here.

If there is a topic you would like to see covered, please email ideas to, pio@gunnisoncounty.org.

Update on Positives

We have had 17 positive tests since February 6th

We continue to meet two indicators for a move to yellow. Our positive cases and our positivity continue to be well above our coronameter thresholds. Our ability to give care is still in a good place so we remain in our local blue level restrictions.

Vaccines

For additional questions, please do not call Health and Human Services or Gunnison Valley Health. Instead, we ask that you reach out to the Call Center at 970-641-7660 or CallCenter@gunnisoncounty.org.

Please fill out our vaccine interest form that is live on the vaccine information page on our website. Even if you are not interested in receiving the vaccine or if you aren’t expecting one until further in the phases we still would encourage you to fill it out. This information is helping us to continue to request doses to the state.

We have added a field at the top of our data dashboard that shows how many individuals we have vaccinated with a first and second dose in Gunnison County. This number will be updated on a weekly basis on Tuesdays.

Travel and Quarantine Guidance

Gunnison County continues to recommend that anyone who travels out of the county for more than 24 hours to quarantine for 7 days upon their return to Gunnison County. We also recommend that visitors who come into the county isolate for 7 days prior to their arrival.

The state has updated guidance for individuals that have received two doses of vaccine and 2 weeks have elapsed since the second dose. These individuals will no longer have to follow quarantine protocols when travelling or are exposed to a positive case. Instead, they will be directed to monitor for any symptoms and isolate and seek testing should any symptoms present. Individuals who are fully vaccinated will still be required to follow the commitments of containment.

State Exposure Notification App

The state’s new exposure notification app is now live. Info on how to set it up can be found here. Even a small uptake of the app in our community can positively impact our outcomes. While alone it won’t be a game changer, combined with our other tools- social distancing, masks, hand hygiene- we can continue to reduce the spread.

Testing Site

The main testing site is located at Gunnison Valley Health and is open Monday through Friday. Testing requires an appointment ahead of time.

The testing site is located in the large north entrance parking lot and operates out of a shed. We ask that you please contact the Call Center in advance to schedule an appointment at 970-641-7660.

Call Center: 970-641-7660

The Call Center is open from 8 a.m.-12p.m. and 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Here is an infographic of the Call Center call tree.
