Coming Soon: State Matrix Dial
Tomorrow the state of Colorado will be announcing a Matrix Dial that is based off our Coronometer. There will be some inconsistancies between the two meters that we are working with the state to resolve. The state’s matrix dial will help identify when counties should be in the Protect Our Neighbors, Safer at Home, and Stay at Home levels. The criteria the State will look at when determining wich level each county falls under are the number of new cases, percent positivity of COVID-19 tests, and hospitalization rates.
For now, Gunnison is still utlizing our Coronameter.
Extension of the Elk Ave Face Covering Requirement
The Town of Crested Butte has decided to extend the requirement that face coverings be worn on Elk Ave for all pedestrians until such time as the order is revoked. It is set to expire at the end of September.

Rapid Test Data
We have added the results from the Abbott point of care rapid tests onto our dashboard. As we integrate this in with the PCR tests, we have seen a bump in our cases, but this is not a cause for alarm.
Currently, we are using the rapid tests in a sparing way because we have a limited supply. They are being used in emergency situations like when someone shows up at the ER, for pre-operation surgeries, or as tended to by emergency medical services. In addition, the tests have been used for emergency responders including; healthcare workers, law enforcement etc.
Virtual Town Hall and Change in Meeting Schedule
Incident Command is moving to a one day a week meeting schedule on Thursdays. We will be moving our Virtual Town Hall series to align with this Thursday schedule. We are also trying to allow for more of the public to participate and are moving the meeting to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings. Our next Virtual Town Hall series will take place on September 17th at 5:00 p.m., sign up ahead of time here. As always we will simultaneously stream to the Gunnison County Health and Human Services Facebook page.
If there is a topic you would like to see covered, please email ideas to, pio@gunnisoncounty.org.
Positives and Indicator Updates as of 2:30 PM
Currently, in the seven-day period from Sep 2-Sep 8 we don’t have any days with three or more positive tests. In the 14-day period from Aug 25-Sep 8, the positivity rate sits at 2.01% with a total of 6 positives. We do not meet any of the indicators for a move to yellow (three of seven criteria must be met). No other indicators have been met at this time.
This is all thanks to your diligence in washing your hands, social distancing, and wearing masks. Keep it up!
Overall, we have seen 258 positive tests so far with 2,282 negative tests.

Importance of Self-Reporting
One of the best tools to provide early warnings of spread in the community is to self-report as symptomatic. If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, even if they are mild, please self-report and isolate yourself.
