Positives and Indicator Updates

In the period from 7/10-7/21 we have had 36 positive test results come in.

Age breakdown:

  • 0   – 29:  15
  • 31 – 39:   7
  • 40 – 49:   7
  • 50 – 59:   3
  • 60+ :       4

Testing scatter plot:

We have seen a shift to younger individuals getting sick. Unfortunately, we are not seeing a pattern of hotspots, rather a spattering of cases throughout the community.

We continue to meet two indicators for a move to yellow. No other indicators have been met at this time.

While our healthcare system is busy locally and across the Western Slope, we do still have capacity. We currently don’t have any patients at the hospital with Covid-19. The other indicators that would move us to yellow are around our ability to give care. Thus far, we are in strong standing.

Virtual Town Hall

Dr. Shay Krier of GVH presented on treatments, prevention, and long term effects of COVID-19. The slides can be found here. A recording of the presentation can be found here.

We will not be holding a virtual town hall next week, Monday 8/3. We will pick back up our normal schedule starting on Monday 8/10. Should the need arise, we will add a special meeting.

The screening site is located at GVH Monday through Saturday starting at 9:00 AM. Testing requires an appointment ahead of time. The call center is only open Monday-Friday. Delivery Assistance Update

Prescriptions deliveries will be scheduled any day of the week, but they will only be delivered on Tuesday and Fridays.

We ask that you only use this service if you are at risk and self-isolating at home, ill with Covid-19 symptoms, or quarantined and need groceries or prescriptions delivered to your home. The Gunnison Senior Transportation Dispatch will now be fielding calls at (970) 641-7959. Deliveries are by drivers trained to safely handle your order and are available throughout the valley, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Importance of Self-Reporting

One of the best tools to provide early warnings of spread in the community is to self-report as symptomatic. If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, even if they are mild, please self-report and isolate yourself.
