Positive Tests

We have had 3 new positive test results come in since Monday bringing our total to 130. We have had 5 positive tests in the last 14 days. The 14 day average testing positivity is now at 2.35%. We have hit one day, 7/10, where we had 3 positive tests in a single day. We still have not met any of the yellow level indicators as displayed on our dashboard.

State Mask Mandate

At his press conference today, Governor Polis has added a statewide mask mandate for anyone 10 or older in indoor public spaces. Locally in Gunnison County, masks are required for anyone 2 and older in indoor public spaces or outdoors where social distancing can’t be met. In Crested Butte, on Elk Ave from 1st to 6th street and adjacent alleys, pedestrians are required to wear masks.

State Variance

The Governor announced today that there will be a 14 day moratorium on any variances from the counties. We are not sure yet whether this means the variance we submitted on Monday will be considered or not.

7/20/20 Virtual Town Hall

We are still finalizing our topic for Monday’s 2:30 town hall. We will likely be talking about the situation in the communities around us, how treatment for covid patients has changed, and the long term effects to individuals recovering from covid. The call center will be operating 8am-12pm Monday-Friday. For those needing assistance outside of those hours, please leave a message. There will also be someone monitoring the callcenter@gunnisoncounty.orgemail. 

Delivery Assistance Update

Prescriptions deliveries will be scheduled any day of the week, but they will only be delivered on Tuesday and Fridays.

We ask that you only use this service if you are at risk and self-isolating at home, ill with Covid-19 symptoms, or quarantined and need groceries or prescriptions delivered to your home. The Gunnison Senior Transportation Dispatch will now be fielding calls at (970) 641-7959. Deliveries are by drivers trained to safely handle your order and are available throughout the valley, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Screening Site

The screening site is located only at GVH Monday through Saturday starting at 9:00 AM. The site is located in the large north entrance parking lot and operate out of a shed. We ask that you please call the call center ahead to schedule an appointment at 970-641-7660.

Importance of Self-Reporting

One of the best tools to provide early warnings of spread in the community is to self-report as symptomatic. If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, even if they are mild, please self-report and isolate yourself.
