Happy Independence Day
We all look forward to celebrating Independence Day. We ask that you do so responsibly. It is up to you to stay in the blue and keep our businesses open. Your commitment to hand hygiene, social distancing, and masking up will keep our economy running. Our neighboring counties have also gone into stage 1 fire restrictions. We ask that you celebrate safely so we don’t impact our already strained emergency services.
By the Numbers Dashboard
We are working to update our dashboards to better reflect how our standing is within the coronameter indicator guidelines. We hope to have this new look launched next week. In the meantime, the “All Test Data” section in the detailed dashboard is now live feeding as soon as results are entered into our database. This section will show you how many people are tested by day and what their results are. In addition, if you right click, you can download a .csv of the raw data.
Variance to State Denied
After a long wait, we received word from the state that our variance request does not fit their “Safer at Home” variance framework. We were urged to reapply in the “Protect Our Neighbors” stage. The state will begin accepting applications on Monday and we plan to submit as soon as they open up.
Public Meeting
For Monday, July 6th, our virtual town hall will cover the business surveys and our new economic recovery dashboard. The presentation will delve into the economic impacts that the pandemic has had on our community. As always, we will follow the presentation with a Q&A session. Sign up ahead of time for the zoom webinar here. We will also be streaming live to the Gunnison County Health and Human Services Facebook page.
July 4th Testing
Our testing site will not be running on Saturday, July 4th.

Importance of Self-Reporting
One of the best tools to provide early warnings of spread in the community is to self-report as symptomatic. If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, even if they are mild, please self-report and isolate yourself.
