Screening Site

Due to the weather event coming in, tomorrow’s screening site will operate in Crested Butte at the Lodge at Mountaineer Square parking garage from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.

Please do not show up to the screening site before calling the Call Center at 970-641-7660.

Beginning next week, the screening site will be moving to a different schedule.

LAST NIGHT’S UPDATE HAD THE LOCATIONS SWAPPED.

Monday from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM in Gunnison

Wednesday from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM in Crested Butte

Friday testing will be by appointment and reserved for healthcare, law enforcement, EMS, and fire employees only.

We have seen a decrease in the number of screenings at the testing site. We are hoping to give the staff a bit of a break in anticipation of a larger scale testing of the community in the future.

Investigative Science Section

As mentioned in last night’s update, Gunnison County has put together a group with a background in epidemiology, health care, and statistics. The Investigative Science Section is working diligently on modeling and guidance with the goal of opening our community back up in stages, as quickly and safely as possible. This may resemble a dance, navigating the situation as gracefully as possible. We cannot risk allowing the disease to ramp back up in this community, or a prolonged and unnecessary event will result.

Unfortunately, Dr. Heinrich’s modeling presentation is going to have to be postponed until next week as she works through some anomalies in the data. We will push that out publicly as soon as it becomes available.

Center for Mental Health

The Center for Mental Health has a free talk line that is open 24 hours per day at 970-252-6220.

Grocery and prescription delivery 7 days per week

While the Call Center (970-641-7660) is not operating on weekends, the Delivery Assistance Hotline is.

If you are at risk and self-isolating at home, ill with Covid-19 symptoms, or quarantined and need groceries or prescriptions delivered to your home; call (970) 641-7959. Deliveries are by drivers trained to safely handle your order and are available throughout the valley, 7 days a week, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Self-Report as Resolved

At 4:35 PM we had 321 previously symptomatic people reporting that their symptoms had resolved.

RECOVERY defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications for 72 hours and improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and, at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared. If your symptoms have resolved, please fill out the following form.
